What are the benefits of a linear shower drain?
A linear shower drain unleashes new design possibilities, while simplifying cleaning and increasing drainage capacity. Its length helps water to drain more efficiently, making it easier to design barrier-free shower spaces with large floor tiles. And thanks to its one-sided slope, it can be installed against a wall instead of the center of the shower space.
Where should I install a linear drain?
Brizo® linear shower drains can be installed in various ways: three-sided installation (against three walls), one-sided installation (against one wall), free in the floor, or between two walls.
We recommend three-sided installation for the simplest installation with the least tile cutting. However, the shower drain can also be placed free in the floor as long as the floor slopes toward the drain from all angles.
For best results, follow the installation guide precisely. Only trained professionals should install shower drains, in compliance with local building regulations.
What is the Water Protection System?
The Water Protection System (WPS) is an easy-to-install and safe-to-assemble sealing system. It consists of a flexible factory-assembled waterproofing membrane connected to a linear drain’s stainless steel flanges or a point drain’s special cuff. By error-proofing installation, the system reduces leaks and offers a watertight install.
What is the Tile Adjustable Frame?
The Tile Adjustable Frame (TAF) is fully adjustable during tiling—eliminating guesswork and ensuring a perfect fit with any floor material from ¼”-¾” (7-18mm). The frame can be fitted with multiple length end spacers for a perfect fit against the wall.
What is secondary drainage?
With the Water Protection System, secondary drainage provides extra protection against leaks. Any water that leaks under tiles due to porous sealant or cracks simply flows back into the shower drain.
Please note: Entire wet area must be sealed with a certified waterproofing membrane.
What floor types do Brizo® shower drains pair with?
Brizo® reversible drains are suitable for tile and ceramic floors from ¼”-¾” (7-18mm). Brizo® seamless drains are suitable for tile, marble and natural stone floors of any thickness.
