Hotel 1928 is the epitome of a historically minded renovation. One that honors the building’s history while updating it for the modern day. Originally built as a Moorish Revival lodge, the impressive building sits at the heart of downtown Waco. AJ Capital has ushered in its newest chapter as a boutique hotel with three restaurants, a rooftop bar, and a grand ballroom.

Instead of eschewing the building’s history, the renovation embraces it. The space effortlessly blends eras. Terrazzo floors and exposed beams meld with lush velvets, striking gold hues, and Chesterfield sofas. At once sumptuous and accessible, every detail is chosen with care.

The guest rooms epitomize this approach. Retro touches like brass knob switches combine with modern amenities. (Le Labo® soaps, Dyson® hairdryers and Marshall® surround sound, to name a few.) And the bath spaces feature the Invari® Bath Collection, itself a blend of the Edwardian Era and the Machine Age.
Perhaps the piece de resistance is the Washington Suite, replete with 12 beds, elegant gathering spaces, and a library of its own. The Tulham™ Bridge Faucet graces the kitchenette, while the Odin® Collection adorns the footbaths of the in-suite spa. As the past and present meet, the experience is both timely and timeless.
