The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) developed the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System to provide a national standard for what constitutes a sustainable building. A total of five points are available for water efficiency for LEED-New Construction. Delta is a member of the USGBC.

The CaGBC represents 1,600 member organizations involved in the design, construction and operation of buildings. The Council implements the LEED® Green Building Rating System in Canada.
